Intern – Natural environment characterization (Amos, QC)

Description of responsibilities
During your internship, you will :
- Participate in inventories, characterization and sampling (fauna, flora, water, soil, sediments) in the municipal, commercial, industrial and mining sectors
- Support biologists in developing inventory and ecological characterization plans
- Support the environment team in planning field work
- Prepare, maintain and follow up on equipment and material inventories (e.g. calibration of multi-parameter probes, preparation of field material, cleaning of equipment on return from characterization campaigns, etc.)
- Compile and analyze field data
- Analyze laboratory results
- Write study reports
- Support project managers and biologists in environmental studies and authorization applications required for projects
- Perform any task related to the role
Skills required
- In the process of obtaining a bachelor’s degree in biology or ecology/or any technical course related to the natural environment
- Valid driver’s license

- Ability to communicate and work as part of a team
- Sense of initiative, resourcefulness and versatility
- Good management of time and priorities
- Knowledge of the Ministry’s inventory protocols and sampling guides
- Knowledge of geomatics tools (QGIS or ArcGIS)
- Good physical condition
- Willingness to work in the field
- Willingness to carry out outdoor inventory campaigns and work intensive hours on occasion
- Ability to adapt to an outdoor working environment with sometimes difficult weather conditions
- Good synthesis and writing skills
